About this Design

The image features a vibrant yellow banana duct-taped to a white background with a single strip of grey duct tape. The style is minimalist with a pop-art influence, drawing attention through its simplicity and humor. It symbolizes a playful or ironic statement and could reflect on modern art or contemporary culture humorously.

Behind this design

When I read the challenge, I started thinking about yellow things. I thought of bananas, and for some inspiration I search for “Banana Art”. The search result led me to a news story from 2019, which I thought fitted the colours of the challenge perfectly. The $120,000 “sculpture” from 2019. Of course, this isn’t the only banana represented in the art work, the famous Velvet Underground and Nico album cover by Andy Warhol for instance. So I’ve tried to put my own pop-arty spin on it!
