About this Design
A detailed black and white illustration of a moth with intricate patterns on its wings, showing a dotted texture and symmetrical design reminiscent of vintage botanical art. The moth's wings are outstretched, highlighting the eye-like spots and swirling lines. The design is clear and precise, evoking a sense of elegance and natural beauty.
@lorendowding
Black and white drawing of a Western sheep moth. I made this drawing by hand with ink pens on Bristol board, using a dot work, or stippling technique. Sheep moth (Hemileuca eglanterina), are silk moths found in parts of North America. These insects appear during the day in summer and vary in colour and markings. The moth that I have drawn has beautiful golden yellow orange lower wings with vibrant pink red upper wings.
