Black and white hand-drawn illustration of a Pacific white-sided dolphin. I made this drawing using fin ink pens on Bristol board, using a stippling or dot work technique. Pacific white-sided dolphins (Lagenorhynchus obliquidens) are found in the North Pacific Ocean. Also known as the hookfin porpoise, these aquatic mammals have white bellies and light and dark grey stripes and patches on their bodies. These dolphins live in large groups and are playful and acrobatic, the dolphin I have drawn is leaping through the air.
