About this Design

The black-and-white image showcases a vintage-inspired woodcut design of two figures flying on broomsticks. This hand-carved block print is based off a woodblock print from the 1700s. The book the original comes from discusses witches and their activities and has some lovely images throughout depicting witches doing various activities. I isolated a small portion of one of the images showing a witch and a devil on a night ride and then recreated it as a block carving which I then printed and scanned.
