About this Design

The design features a series of hand-drawn eggplants arranged in a vertical line, decreasing in size and saturation from top to bottom. The eggplants are depicted in various shades of purple, from a rich, dark hue at the top to a light, almost lavender color at the bottom. The artistic style is whimsical and playful, adding a fun and lighthearted feel to the design.

In this series of designs, I went back to traditional Japanese patterns. Building new versions based on my existing resources, I then wanted to find unique ways to bring color to them. I love the soft textures and vivid gradients of watercolors and when I married them with my patterns, I found them to be both subtle and striking at the same time. I hope you will like them as much as I do.
